Tony Zoitsas - B.Sc (Hons) - Vibration/Blast Engineer Tony Zoitsas graduated with an Honours degree in Applied Geology from
the University of South Australia, specialising in engineering geology
and rock mechanics. Tony joined the Blastronics consulting group in 1996
where he worked on numerous projects in surface and underground mining,
quarrying and construction industries. Projects undetaken both locally
and internationally included assessment and optimisation of blasting practices,
control of environmental impacts from blasting activities, and the establishment
of environmental monitoring programs. He also worked closely with extractive
associations in assessing the impacts of environmental compliance legislation. Tony has also worked closely in the use, development and sales of in-house monitoring instrumentation. This includes vibration and air overpressure monitors, velocity of detonation equipment, and recent developments in measuring dynamic effects of blast vibration across discontinuities and structural cracks. Tony joined the Saros Group as Environmental Services Director in 2002 and provides blast consulting and environmental monitoring solutions to our clients in the mining, quarrying and constructions sectors. Dr. Paul Theologou - PhD (Geology) - Downhole Geophysicist Dr Paul Theologou graduated with an Honours degree in Applied Geology from the University of South Australia in 1991. Paul then completed his PhD in Applied Geology at University of South Australia and the National Centre for Petroleum Geology and Geophyics in 1995. During his studies, Paul completed an extensive reservoir characterisation study of a reservoir-seal system, integrating data from many sources. Paul joined the petrophysics group at Santos Ltd. in 1995 and worked on petrophysical field reviews for field development and reservoir simulation, as well as tight gas petrophysics. In 1996 Paul joined ACS Laboratories as a research petrophysicist where he was an integral part of the development of the corEVAL laboratory methods and software module. During this period Paul developed strong core-log integration skills. Paul worked for PTM as a consultant petrophysicist from 1999 until 2000. Paul provides petrophysical consulting services, Geolog support and training of the following courses; Geolog6 Intro, Admin, Determin, Multimin, Loglan and corEVAL. Paul founded the company in 2000, and continues to provide management direction.
